Finding A New Rental Unit

It can sometimes be confusing trying to figure out where to look for rental units.  You don’t just want to drive around and look for “For Rent” signs all day.  Here are a few tips for where to look for a new unit.
Where to Advertise

Newspaper - Local papers have rental property ads in the classified section.

Here are some helpful abbreviations commonly used and understood:
     - #/# - # bedrooms/# bathrooms
     - WD - washer and dryer included
     - WD HKPS - washer and dryer hookups
     - gar - garage

Craigslist - Craigslist is a commonly used website that has classified-type advertisements on it.  You can search by keyword, number of bedrooms, city and more.  Ads are kept for 7 days and usually updated every day.  Be sure to check back often.

Management Company – One of the best ways to get a large amount of listings is to contact a management company.   They are often easier to deal with than individual owners since they have standard policies and procedures as well as regular hours.  You can often pick up a listing in their office or look at them online.
          - Aapex Property Management is one company in the area with many listings.
